What a fantastic effort from Class 2 children that completed their half marathon challenge. It was fabulous to see them complete their last mile competing with other local schools. Everyone should be so proud of completing this huge achievement. Well Done!
Year 2's have been creating repeating patterns.
We have been planting foods that we eat.
We all had a wonderful afternoon at Forest School. We dug holes, built dens, enjoyed time around the campfire and explored the forest.
We have been learning about mosques and what happens inside a mosque.
Today we made a mosque using modelling clay and the Year 2 children labelled the different key features.
In Gymnastics this week the children have been working on crab support, front support and the dish and arch hold. The children then worked on a smooth transition from dish to arch.
We started our controlled seed experiment. We planted seeds and put them in a variety of locations with varying conditions. We will monitor these over the coming weeks to see how the various conditions impact on the growth of the seeds.
In gymnastics this week the children have been working on holding a bridge shape and their releve walk. For a releve walk the children walk on the balls of their feet, keeping your body tall and balanced. We tried three progressions with arms to balance, hands on hips and arms extended. We imagined we were on a beam, and this helped us control our movements.
