Maths - 3D Shapes
We looked at the properties of 3D shapes and children played a game to guess the shape and Year 1 children built models using 3D shapes. They identified the names of shapes used.
Children enjoyed using a variety of equipment during a gymnastics trip.
English - Quest
In English children have been developing their story writing ability by using powerful verbs, interesting adjectives and adding adverbs to their writing. They have made their own predictions and retold the picture story using their own exciting vocabulary. Children enjoyed role playing the key events from the pictures of the story.
Maths - Year 2
Children in Year 2 have been doing lots of problem solving and challenged with convincing us of their reasoning.
Science - Animals and their needs
We are looking at the needs of animals and in particular a healthy human diet. We sorted food into groups, some did so by meals and others did so by food types.
RAF COSFORD SCHOOL TRIP
Class 2 enjoyed participating in a workshop to role play checking in at an airport and travelling on an aeroplane.
They also tried out lots of scientific activities related to air travel and got to take part in a parachute and helicopter making workshop. We used different materials and made predictions as to which would fall to the ground the quickest. It was lots of fun testing them out.
We have been sorting items that were used for ICT and those that were not. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at Internet Safety and finding out more about ICT.
Year 1 Maths- Ten More or Ten Less
We have been looking at ten more than a number and ten less than a number and identifying missing numbers to solve the answers.
We have been learning all about Christopher Columbus and writing in paragraphs facts out his voyages across the sea.
We have been looking at bundles of ten and identifying how many tens are in a number.
