World Book Day 2020
We all had a wonderful day reading, sharing and writing stories.
Children were able to experience a wide range of gymnastic equipment during the gymnastic event.
RAF Cosford school trip
We enjoyed participating in a workshop to role play checking in at an airport and travelling on an aeroplane.
We also tried out lots of scientific activities related to air travel and got to take part in a parachute and helicopter making workshop. We had a wonderful day.
The children put on a fabulous Christmas performance of the nativity Whoops-a-Daisy Angel.
It was wonderful to see then shine.
Santa's School Visit
We were very lucky to have a special visit from Santa. He popped into school and delivered a sack of gifts for all the children.
It's wonderful to finally see the new playground and play equipment installed. The children were excited and looking forward to the grand new playground opening.
Children In Need
Thank you to everyone that participated in Children in Need we raised over £55.
School Meals Week Event at Harper Adams University
We were lucky enough to have an invite for an impromptu visit to Harper Adams to take part in a food tasting event. It involved the National School Meals Week team touring through the area with a food truck, their chef was producing healthy school meals with a link to British farming. We were able to take ten Year 1/2 children along to take part, they had a great time being the healthy food tasters and trying new foods.
We all enjoyed our hibernation mufti day where we found out about animals that hibernate in the winter months and raised money for the school by coming to school in our cosy onesies and pyjamas. We enjoyed baking cookies and having these with a nice drink of hot chocolate.
Children enjoyed finding out about Diwali and taking part in a morning of related activities in school. They listened to the story of Guru Hargobind and his cloak made with 52 pieces of string and all enjoyed decorating the cloak. Children also created rangoli patterns, made diva lights and tasted Asian food.
Open the Book Assembly
Every fortnight we are fortunate enough to welcome Reverend Zoe into school to share with us an interactive bible story. Children really enjoy being able to participate in the special assemblies.
Children enjoyed sharing their Harvest assembly with parents and donated lots of food that will go to the Newport Food Bank.
You may have noticed outside the front of school our apple tree and pear tree. This week some of the children helped to harvest the apples for us to eat in school.
Open the Book Assembly
It was lovely to welcome Reverend Zoe back into school this week for her to introduce the Open the book assembly where she reads a story from the Old Testament and children act of parts. This will take place every other week in one of our assemblies.
