Monday 23rd March, as part of our religious education and cultural studies we visited the Sikh Gurdwara in Oakengates.
The children enjoyed finding out more about the Sikh faith. They were able to observe and participate in what happens inside the Gurdwara.
We were very fortunate to listen to and enjoy seeing the musical instruments being played.
As part of the Sikh community they offer food to anybody. We were invited to try some pakora, chapattis as well as crisps, fruit and chocolate. The children really enjoyed the social aspect of everyone eating together and trying new foods.
The children had a wonderful time and showed great respect for the Sikh religion and have developed their knowledge in a meaningful way.
