Pupil Achieves Telford Tommy Award

In school today we welcomed Councillor Paul Watling the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families, Telford and Wrekin Council.

The purpose of his visit was to present one of our pupils with a Telford Tommy Award.

Following the Olympics and Paralympics, Gracie a year two pupil at the school, was inspired to start fundraising. She set herself a challenge to visit all the Golden Postboxes and to raise funds for the charities "Get Kids Going" and "Hope House Children's Hospice".

Today Gracie proudly received her award in recognition for all her fundraising achievements.

Thanks were given to Gracie and also to the school children and their families for supporting her with her fundraising with a sponsored walk as part of the Golden Postbox Challenge.

The Telford Tommy Award recognises young people who have made a difference to the community or have improved and enriched their own or others’ lives.

Gracie will also have her name added to the Telford Walk of Fame, which is to be another excellent addition to the Telford Town Park and will mean that she will have permanent public recognition for her achievements.
