BMX Championship comes to Telford
Wrekin Riders BMX club are to hold their first ever Midlands Regional BMX Championships race meeting at their new and impressive National standard BMX track in Dawley, Telford.
The event will host over 500 BMX riders from across the Midlands Region, including local riders British Number 2 Callum Edwards (male 13), Troy Weaver (male 6 + under category), John Price (Veterans) and Mazie Harper (female 6 + under) category who will be gunning for regional titles.
The event is the penultimate race of the summer 2014 BMX Midland race season and will take place at the on Sunday 21st August 2014 at the new National track in Telford based at the Phoenix Academy, Duce Drive, Dawley, Telford with racing starting about midday.
Spectators are completely free to attend and can expect to see adrenaline fuelled racing from some of the fastest riders in the country. Come down for free and help to cheer on your local riders to success and enjoy the thrills and spills of BMX racing.
Of the competition, John Price said: “I am thrilled by the idea of competing in front of a Telford crowd. The competition itself will be tough, but I’ll put everything into it and I’m looking forward to being able to race at my home BMX track in ‘Telford’.”
