Welcome

Reception Children settling in to school.

We added all the key features to make our faces.

We practiced our letter formation outside.

Our Pear Tree was laden with fruit and so we decided to go pear picking so that we can make a pear crumble.

We used the pears we collected from our tree at the front of school to make a delicious pear crumble. It really was a big hit with most the children and they really enjoyed being involved in making and baking it.

In Geography we have been finding about the 5 oceans, we enjoyed finding out what in in our oceans and role playing being at sea.

Computing - We used the interactive whiteboard to create a picture of the ocean. We changed the colours of the pen and thickness of the nib.

Maths - 1 and another 1

We have a wonderful day finding out all about Diwali.

Computing - We used the Beebots and programmed them to move in directions to squares on the grid.

‘Traction Man is Here!’ by Mini Grey and we had two of the characters from the book join our class! Traction Man himself and his lovely pet scrubbing brush! The children have been so keen to write, draw pictures and act out role plays related to the book. I had no idea we had so many action heroes in Class One!

All the children were given the opportunity to apply to be on the School Council. They said their speeches and then voted for the candidates they wanted to choose.

Maths - We have been looking at 'equal' .

Children performed their parts really well at the Christmas Play 'Shine, Star Shine'.
