Children's work Summer Term 2017

Road Safety Awareness Training.

The Telford Road Safety Team visited us at school to provide a road safety awareness training session for the children. As well as in the classroom training the children went out practising their training. Thank you to all the parent helpers during this training session, it was greatly appreciated.

We have been finding out about litter and recycling. Class 2 received a visit from Telford and Wrekin Environmental Co-ordinator  and Veolia Recycling Centre we talked about the effect of litter on the environment and how it affects the community we live in. We all went litter picking around the village of Church Aston and had a visit from 'Munch' the recycling lorry. We discovered what new items could be made from recycling tin, plastic and glass with some very interesting results.

Chetwynd Deer Park

We used our problem solving skills to think of a way to collect water from the lake without going past a coned off area. Children worked in groups taping together poles with cups or bags on the end to dip into the lake and collect the water. We then had to hunt to find various items to pop into a bowl to create a magical medicine.

We also enjoyed collecting interesting items to make journey sticks, building dens for small animals and a brilliant bug hunt.

Art -Self Portraits

Using pencils we sketched the one side of our face, taking care with the position of facial features. We looked for areas to shade and used mirrors to help with looking at fine detail.

Keeping Healthy

We looked at what our bodies need to keep fit and healthy and designed a poster with our ideas.
