As part of our litter awareness incentive we received a visit from Tina Brasenell, Telford and Wrekin Environmental engagement Officer. She gave an informative talk on litter and then accompanied us all litter picking in the community.
We are promoting environmental awareness in a way that links to many curriculum subjects, including citizenship, personal, social and health education (PSHE). Our main focus is keeping our school and the surrounding areas tidy and free from litter by making the children aware of the impact that litter has.
The children worked hard on their flipped learning homework project and produced some fabulous litter awareness posters and some lovely recycled creations.
Class 2 retold the story of 'The Gingerbread Man' through music and Drama.
Literacy - Traditional Tales
This term our theme in Literacy is ‘Traditional Tales’. Children will learn about the features of tales, using adjectives to describe characters and settings in detail, to retell stories and to re-enact their favourite tales using props and musical instruments.
Diorama Homework Project
Class 2 worked at home to create a Shoebox Diorama of their own imaginary world. Everyone enjoyed looking in detail at all the individual dioramas created. Well done everyone for the effort you put into this project.
In R.E we have been learning all about Muslims. On our trip to Telford Central Mosque in Wellington the children had the opportunity to explore the mosque and find out more about what happens inside.
Chetwynd Deer Park
Class 2 had a great time when we looked for signs of spring. We all went on a springtime treasure hunt and identified leaves to match them with the trees.
In R.E. we have been learning about words that are special to Muslims. Then we thought about words that are special to us. We wrote our important words on paper plates and decorated them using a wide range of materials.
