Class 1 have been learning about the history of space travel. They learned about animals and people going into space and that Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon.

British Values Flipped Learning

The Department for Education have recently reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs."

This is the wonderful work that parents and children did at home for their 'flipped learning homework'. This is Class 1's interpretation of British values represented with images, cuttings, writing and posters.

As part of our science theme on plants the children have potted various seeds and have been monitoring any changes and discovering what they need to grow. We have investigated how plants soak up water and nutrients from the soil. The children have labelled the different parts of a plant and written a definition for each of these labels.

We have been generating adjectives to describe how the Baboon looks and feels. The children used their describing words to write a character description incorporating the characters feelings. They used different media to paint and draw pictures to represent the words they used. A group of children used construction materials to build a rocket to take Baboon back to earth.
