English - Poetry

We looked at the book 'Where my Wellies Take Me' by Clare  and Michael Morpurgo, it's a collection of poetry with beautiful illustrations. We created our own version of this book called 'Where my School Shoes Take Me'.

We have been collecting poems and creating our poetry of our own using our surroundings for inspiration. Everyone has enjoyed reciting and sharing their love for poetry.

Take a look at a few poems below recited from some Class 2 children.

History - Christopher Columbus

We created a timeline for the life of Christopher Columbus, putting key events in his life in order. We then used the timeline to retell briefly these key events from his life using 'first, next, then and finally'.

Christopher Columbus Day

In History we have been learning all about the great explorer Christopher Columbus. Everyone enjoyed taking part in the fun packed day. We created pictures of the 3 ships he sailed with on his first voyage, labelled the seven continents of the world, researched interesting facts about his life, drew pictures of him and the 3 ships, made hats, created old maps and role played being the great explorer himself.

Enginuity

We enjoyed the visit to Enginuity in Ironbridge and had a brilliant time learning all about forces. We worked in small groups to build rockets and went on to test these with exciting results. Take a look below at the photos and videos from the day.
